Hi everyone and happy July! Do you have any fun plans for the long holiday weekend? We’re mostly sticking around home but have a few family get-together plans that we’re excited about. We also have a bunch of overgrown plants (and plenty of weeds!) to tackle in our backyard so I’m looking forward to getting a good yardwork sesh or two in.
I’ve been thinking about doing this post for some time now. I actually first came up with the idea in the middle of winter and that seemed like a silly time to post about coconut fragrances so I’ve been patiently waiting for summer to roll around! ⏳ It also seemed like perfect timing, as these all pair perfectly with the yummy coconut perfumes I talked about in my last post!
Without further ado, I give you my list of the best Bath & Body Works coconut shower gels!

At the Beach is a long-time B&BW summer staple of mine! It really does remind me of spending an afternoon at the beach with old school coconut-scented tanning oil slathered on. It’s a beautiful combo of coconut and tropical frangipani with a tiny hint of citrus from the bergamot. This is heavily coconut-leaning and I would definitely put it in a ‘sunscreeny coconut’ category. This fragrance pairs beautifully with the Vacation perfume I recently talked about, which really IS based off of a sunscreen!
I chose to get this one in the moisturizing body wash for my extra dry skin days but it is also available in the shower gel as well.

Copper Coconut Sands
- Notes: sun-kissed coconut, soft orchid petals, creamy sandalwood
- Key Characteristics: warm, cozy, solar

This is such a lovely, warm, cozy scent. It reminds me of being on the beach at sunset with a fluffy towel wrapped around my shoulders, after a day of swimming and playing in the sun. It has a very cozy solar feel along with the coconut and creamy sandalwood. This is not an overly sweet fragrance or candy-like as some of the other ones in this list are so I think it will appeal to a lot of people. I also think the warmer feel makes it appropriate for year-round use. Massively love this one!

Vanilla Coconut

If you’re looking for a classic coconut and vanilla combo, search no further! This is exactly what it says it is: lots of cozy and yummy coconut and vanilla. It’s got some sweetness to it but I wouldn’t say it’s tooth-achingly sweet or goes in a candy direction. It actually sort of reminds me of those classic little tree-shaped car fresheners in the coconut scent. And I mean that in the best way possible, those little trees bring back a lot of good memories for me!

Belize Tropical Cabana

I talked about this yummy scent last summer in my tropical scent shower gel haul and it’s still a huge fave. It has a touch of the coconut sunscreen vibes similar to At the Beach but with less tropical flowers and more fruity notes added. This gourmandish fragrance reminds me of a sweet tropical beverage or smoothie that one might enjoy while on holiday in a tropical locale. It instantly makes me feel relaxed and has me dreaming of my next sunny summer getaway!
Sadly, I did not see this one on B&BW’s website this year. But Amazon still carries it in select products, including a bundle with the shower gel, that I’ll link to below.

Oahu Coconut Sunset
- Notes: coconut blossom, sparkling bergamot, beach tuberose, Hawaiian monoi, molten amber
- Key Characteristics: tropical floral, sweet, ambery

Oahu Coconut Sunset is another shower gel I featured in last summer’s tropical haul. This pretty fragrance focuses on the monoi note, which is an oil made from soaking tiaré flowers (aka Tahitian gardenia) in coconut oil. This delicious-smelling oil is used as a skin and hair softener. Besides the heavenly scent of monoi, this fragrance also features a beautiful tuberose note and an ambery undertone. If you like the idea of sweet, tropical flowers mixed in with your coconut, this is the one for you!

Coconut Palm
- Notes: coconut cream, white palm, vanilla
- Key Characteristics: light, classic, great for layering

This pretty scent is the lightest of the bunch. It’s a great option for folks who like a lighter scent but still want that tropical kiss of coconut. This is a simple, no frills coconut that’s not super sweet, candy-like, fruity, or floral. Just basic coconut that smells great. Its lightness also makes it perfect for layering under almost any perfume but, of course, it’s especially good under my favorite coconut ones!

Fresh Coconut & Cotton

- Key Characteristics: clean, sweet, lightly aquatic

This another one I’ve featured before, actually fairly recently, in my spring shower gel haul. This is the one for lovers of clean scents. It’s the perfect merging of a sweet, spun sugar-esque coconut and fresh, clean, cotton. There’s also a slight aquatic touch here as well, making it a refreshing choice for a hotter day. I feel like this one is pretty unisex, too. If you’re a guy who likes coconut scents, you should definitely give it a try!

Poolside Coconut Colada (previously known as Fresh Coconut Colada)
- Notes: coconut milk, vanilla rum, pink hibiscus
- Key Characteristics: sweet, candy, tropical drink

Poolside Coconut Colada is another one with a yummy, sweet candy vibe. I would put this in a similar category with the other B&BW scents that remind me of a tropical-flavored Hi-Chew candy, such as Pure Wonder and Waikiki Beach Coconut (another great B&BW coconut scent!) As you might surmise from the name, it also smells like a delicious piña colada! However, despite the name and rum note, I would not describe this as a ‘boozy’ scent.

Coconut Cream Pie
- Notes: toasted coconut flakes, caramel custard, golden pie crust

I’ve now raved about this fragrance already in two separate posts (last spring’s hand soap and shower gel hauls) and I’ve only grown to love it more! It has a delightful burnt caramel note that I find completely addictive. I don’t know how they managed to create that burnt impression so accurately but I find it super interesting! That caramel combined with the coconut is just absolutely delicious. It smells exactly like a coconut-topped crème brûlée to me.
At the time of this writing, I do not see the shower gel at B&BW but Amazon has it included with some great bundles so I will link that below. This scrumptious fragrance is absolutely worth owning in multiple products!

Frosted Coconut Snowball
- Notes: frosted coconut, ‘North Pole’ vanilla, winter freesia, snow-kissed woods, & spun sugar

With its mix of coconut, florals, and woodsy touches, I think this fragrance is absolutely year-round appropriate, despite the wintry moniker. It’s a pretty blend of freesia, vanilla, light woods, and of course, coconut. It’s lightly feminine and probably has the least strong coconut note of the bunch so if you prefer your coconut to take a backseat to your florals, this should be a great choice. I love this versatile fragrance and it’s another one I’ve recommended before.

My last one for today is this beautiful fragrance inspired by the gorgeous black sand beaches of Bali. It is such a pretty blend of coconut, jasmine, and salty beach vibes. The lovely tonka bean gives it a little extra depth. This feels like an elevated coconut fragrance; it’s just a touch more sophisticated and mature than the others.
This fragrance is an honorable mention because I could not find it on B&BW’s site this year but you can still find some of the products on Amazon, just not the shower gel at the time of this writing. But B&BW is famous for bringing past fragrances back again so I wanted to go ahead and feature it.
