Drop Your UPS Packages Off

UPS transfers packages to USPS through a service called UPS SurePost. With this service, UPS delivers the package to the local USPS post office, and USPS takes over the delivery for the final leg of the journey. The package is then delivered to the recipient's mailbox or doorstep by a USPS mail carrier.

UPS provides service to every address in the United States. Providing service to less popu- lated or less accessible areas carries higher operating costs. The Delivery Area Surcharge is assessed to offset the cost of providing service to these areas.

You cannot drop off a UPS package at a USPS station. Nor can you ask USPS pickup for a UPS package. You can only use USPS pick-up or stations for products being shipped via US Postal Service. United Parcel Service is NOT the same as US Postal Service.

There are a few reasons why your package status may not be updated right away: If you drop your package off after hours, USPS or UPS won't scan it in until the next day. It's in queue at a USPS or UPS facility. The postal workers or UPS workers scanning packages simply didn't get to it that day.
